    University of Southern California - GLAMOR Lab (Viterbi SURE)
    • Developed neuro-symbolic models for American Sign Language (ASL) understanding, achieving 91% accuracy on isolated sign recognition (ISR).
    • Designed data augmentation techniques (e.g., SMOTE, GAN, ratio tuning) and decoding algorithms (e.g., Viterbi, ensemble methods).
    • Experimented with 40+ model architectures, optimizing ASL Knowledge Graph (ASLKG) embeddings (e.g., TransE, ComplEx).
    • Built groundwork for phoneme-to-sign prediction pipelines for continuous and isolated ASL signs.

  2. Student Researcher

    University of Missouri - Columbia, VIMAN Lab (REU Program)
    • Developed Chain-of-Query (CoQ) prompting, improving small language models (LLMs) for multi-hop open-domain question answering (ODQA).
    • Led experiments on Qwen2, Llama 2/3, Flan-T5, GPT (60M–13B) on NatureQA, HotPotQA, Fever, MusiQue, achieving 5.4% to 11.5% gains.
    • Designed GPU-based data processing algorithms, reducing inference time from 300-500 hours to 7-12 hours.
    • Built Vidura Advisor Framework (VAF)—an RLHF fine-tuned chatbot for medical knowledge retrieval on KnowCOVID-19.

    University of Hawaii at Manoa - Hawaii Digital Health Lab
    • Leading first-author publication on explainable AI for ASD classification, using CNN & Vision Transformers (ViT) on eye-tracking datasets (80-90% accuracy).
    • Proposed and conducted an Institutional Review Board (IRB) study for human subject experiments.
    • Working on Autism-ADHD Human-in-the-Loop crowdsourcing & multimodal learning.

    • Developed an enterprise web dashboard for the Fire Department using Angular, ASP.NET Core, Microsoft SQL Server.
    • Built a C# console app for email-based major incident alerts and an Outlook Email Fetch program for media response tracking.
    • Integrated GIS, CAD, RMS databases into a centralized system for incident & performance data visualization.
